Description from the seller

This exceptional natural Welo opal specimen from Ethiopia displays an impressive and unusually intense play-of-color that extends over large areas of the opal. Especially dominant is a remarkably bright neon green that, depending on the viewing angle, shifts from intense turquoise and electric blue to orange, yellow, and fiery red. In particular, the combination of the glowing green and the sometimes extraordinarily strong red and orange color flashes makes this specimen especially striking. The photos clearly show how strongly the appearance of the stone changes with light and angle of view: on one side the glowing green and blue predominate, while other areas reveal spectacular orange-red flames and highly colorful light fields. The opal has a natural, irregular rough form and is partially surrounded by its original host rock matrix, so the natural formation character has been preserved very beautifully. The polished or exposed surfaces give a deep insight into the opalescent material and showcase the extraordinary color effect especially Impressively. Due to the size of the opalescent areas, the immense color intensity, and the broad spectrum from neon green through blue and turquoise to orange and red, it visually constitutes a highly attractive collector’s and display piece. A characterful natural specimen for discerning opal collectors, mineral lovers, and enthusiasts of extraordinary natural art, where the intense play of color and the natural matrix contribute to a unmistakable overall impression.
