AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large, Art Nouveau planter cover - Majolica. Origin: France, Onnaing, early 20th century. Condition: very good, no damage.
Dimensions:
Diameter - 32 cm
Height - 21 cm

Onnaing Faience - In the second half of the 19th century, the La Faïencerie d’Onnaing ceramic works in northern France were under the administration of the Mouzin family. From 1870–1900, majolica was produced there. To supplement local raw material resources, clay was imported from England, Germany and Belgium; as a result, the wares were somewhat lighter than those from other manufactories. The color palette of glazes used in Onnaing was somewhat more subdued (less vivid) than that of the competition, and the glazes themselves were often applied in a fairly careless manner.
