Description from the seller
A beautiful Guildfordia yoka shell, the Yoka star turban, is a species of deep-sea sea snail, a snail from the family Turbinidae, i.e., turban snails. The shell color pattern ranges from very light brown to purplish-brown. Some specimens contain only 6 whorls instead of 7, as in the holotype. The upper whorls are smooth, and then, after the body whorl, there are only two rows of granules instead of 7 or 8. Toward the keel it has very irregular, radiating ribs, which nevertheless leave an almost smooth zone above the keel, with only a few spiral ridges. The base of the shell is less pronounced than the upper part. In some specimens the pink line around the umbilical callus is absent. The aperture is oval, thick, with the nucleus in the external lower corner. The external surface is slightly wrinkled, with irregular wrinkles, almost parallel to the edge of the base of the operculum. The nucleus is marked by an olive spot. Dimensions - 20/80/80 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
