This impressive Boulder Opal pendant from Australia displays an extraordinarily intense and vivid color effect. Across the light blue to turquoise-appearing opal surface runs a dense Play-of-Color in bright pink, violet, bold blue, green, orange and red, which from different viewing angles reveals new color nuances and structures again and again. Especially impressive are the fine, almost cloud-like color patterns that spread over the entire stone and remind of an abstract underwater landscape. The natural dark ironstone areas provide a striking contrast to the light, brilliantly shimmering opal sections and underscore the original formation of Boulder Opal. Through the elaborate polishing the surface gains a deep shine, causing the numerous color changes to stand out particularly brilliantly. The irregular natural pattern, combined with the strong color fields and the characteristic inclusions, makes this specimen a distinctly individual piece of Australian opal art. An extraordinary collector's stone with intense color presence and fascinating natural structure, whose effect unfolds anew from every angle.
