Lupin & Fujiko – Crime and Desire
Dimensions 29cmx41cm
Watercolor on textured cotton paper

Original watercolor painted entirely by hand, dedicated to Lupin III and Fujiko Mine, the most unpredictable and captivating couple in the universe created by Japanese cartoonist Monkey Punch. Between attraction, cunning and continuous games of seduction, the two characters embody a relationship made of complicity and rivalry, in which it is never easy to distinguish feelings from the strategies to pull off the next heist.
For almost twenty years, Davide Zanella has developed a personal artistic style that combines traditional watercolor technique with a passion for illustration and Japanese animation. Painter and illustrator, he is the official Mediaset licensee for Lupin III and creates original works dedicated to the famous saga, offering artistic interpretations of its protagonists through a distinctive visual language.

The meeting between Lupin and Fujiko provides the spark for a composition rich in personality, in which the irony of the gallant thief intertwines with the magnetic charm of his enigmatic adventure partner. The watercolor technique gives the image a particular painterly sensitivity, enhancing expressions, details and nuances through a balance of lightness, elegance and character.

Made for Arte Zeta Studio, this creation is an original and unique work, dedicated to collectors and Lupin III fans, anime and Japanese pop culture. An artistic homage to two iconic characters, whose relationship continues to fascinate generations of viewers thanks to an irresistible alchemy, suspended between adventure, mystery and seduction.
