Description from the seller
KONICA S III, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Konica S III of 1963 is a 35mm coupled-rangefinder camera from Konishiroku with a fast Hexanon 48mm f/1.9 lens and shutter-priority automatic exposure driven by a selenium cell. Konica's Hexanon lenses were highly regarded for their sharpness, and the S III remains a capable, solidly built classic rangefinder.
Condition: Used — Excellent
Pre-owned, moderate signs of use, optics clear
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens (Hexanon 48mm f/1.9): Clear, no issues (cleaned inside)
Viewfinder: Clean; rangefinder image OK
Functional
The camera operates properly: shutter fires at all speeds and the light meter responds.
Light seals replaced. The meter reads about 1.5 stops over (information only).
The small window cover over the selenium meter display is missing.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.9 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/57 s (approx. 0.1 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.4 OVER / EV15: 1.8 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Lens cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
