Description from the seller
Solid silver Dutch wall-mounted holy water font from the 18th century
Rare solid silver Dutch wall-mounted holy water font, 18th century, richly worked in repoussé and chased in the Rococo taste.
Elegant decor of volutes, shells and foliage, the basin being heavily relief-decorated with three heads of winged cherubs.
Presence of several old Dutch hallmarks, partially worn, including a crowned rampant lion and a crowned K hallmark. Precise attribution to the silversmith remains to be determined.
Fine overall condition considering its age, with scratches and signs of use visible in the photographs.
The photos are an integral part of the description of the items and complement their presentation. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.
The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking number, to ensure fast and secure delivery.
Happy bidding
