Zeiss Ikon Ikonette Pronto, a 35 mm film camera (serial V 22047) in reasonable physical condition; functional condition not tested.
Description from the seller
Zeiss Ikon Ikonette (Model 500/24) – 1958 – Rare design icon
Offered: a very striking piece of photographic history, the Zeiss Ikon Ikonette (model 500/24) from around 1958. This model is an absolute eye-catcher in the world of cameras due to its progressive, bold design that broke completely with traditional metal cameras at the time.
This particular example features the characteristic gray-blue plastic body and is equipped with a Novar-Anastigmat 45mm f/3.5 lens and a Pronto shutter. The most unique detail is the large light-gray lever at the front, which the photographer uses both to advance the film and to take a photograph (shutter release).
Due to disappointing sales figures and a short production period at the time, the Ikonette is today a sought-after and rare collector’s item.
Provenance and condition:
This unit comes from a private Zeiss camera collection. The camera is optically in decent condition with normal signs of aging (see the photos for an accurate impression of the cosmetic condition) and has not been mechanically tested.
