Description from the seller
I propose the book "Car Racing 1968", published by Éditions Cercle d'art, tracing car racing in 1968, based on the photographic archives of the DPPI agency, founded in 1965. Living motor sport up close, in contact, was the great ambition of a handful of passionate photographers, who in 1965 created the DPPI agency.
1966 is therefore naturally the second work in the “Car Racing” collection, born from the desire to relive the sensations of a decidedly unusual era. No one would have, at that time, contradicted Ernest Hemingway declaring that, "There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing and mountain climbing; the others are really just games."
Selected from the archives, mostly unpublished by DPPI, the photographs reproduced here are accompanied by comments, memories and anecdotes from two equally legendary figures, photographer Manou Zurini and journalist Johnny Rives.
The book is in pristine condition and the quality of the photograph reproduction is exceptional.
The texts are in English and French.
