AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, large shell Pleuroploca trapezium — common name: trapezium horse conch or striped fox conch — is a species of sea snail, a marine snail in the Fasciolariidae family, the spindle snail, and the tulip snail and their allies. The gold-brown shell is solid and heavy. The spire is of medium length. The apex is usually eroded. The sutures are narrowed. The shoulders on the whorls are covered with spiral rows of slightly pointed, strong knobs. The surface is covered with fine brown, incised spiral lines, appearing mainly in pairs. The outer lip is dentate with seven pairs of teeth, located where the paired lines meet the edge. The oval aperture is pale with strong protrusions inside. The columella is smooth at the back. The siphonal canal is elongated and short. Fascioles are weak. Dimensions: 60/80/145 mm. Highly recommended to collectors and interior decorators.
