Description from the seller

Elegant 6-person table service produced by the historic Società Ceramica Italiana di Laveno, one of the most prestigious Italian porcelain and ceramic manufactories of the twentieth century, which merged in the 1960s into the Richard Ginori group. This service in particular is made by the German manufactory KPM and decorated at the Laveno manufactory, hence the double mark present on these dishes.

A thin gold edge harmoniously traces the plate’s rim profile. The contrast between the bright white porcelain and the delicate gold motif gives the whole an understated, timeless elegance.

The design, free of figurative decorations and characterized by the purity of its forms, lends itself especially well to a classic, elegant, and contemporary table setting, where the quality of the porcelain and the edge finishing become the distinctive elements.

The set is complete for 6 people and comprises:
6 flat plates
6 soup plates
1 sauce boat
1 tureen
1 sauce spoon
1 oval tray
1 round tray
1 cake stand with a defect.

Excellent overall condition. Only the cake stand shows a defect: a small glaze flaw along the rim.

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
