ICA Victrix 48 Folding Plate Camera 7.5cm F6.8 – Germany

Serial Number:
596778

Thank you very much for viewing this historic ICA Victrix 48 folding plate camera.

Produced in Germany during the early decades of the 20th century, the Victrix 48 is a compact folding camera designed for 4.5 × 6 cm photographic plates.

Its folding bellows construction allows the camera to collapse into a relatively compact form when not in use, while the front standard extends for focusing during photography.

This example is fitted with a 7.5cm F6.8 lens, a focal length well suited to the 4.5 × 6 cm format and typical general photography of its period. The Victrix 48 is an interesting example of early German folding-camera design and is also attractive as a collectible historic photographic instrument.

■ Appearance

The camera shows rubbing and visible signs of use consistent with its considerable age.

Despite these age-related signs, the overall exterior remains presentable for an antique camera of this period.

■ Viewfinder / Optics

The viewfinder shows some fungus and haze consistent with age.

The lens elements also show some fungus and haze.

Please take these optical conditions into consideration when bidding.

■ Functional

The basic operation of the camera has been checked.

Due to the considerable age of this camera, detailed mechanical accuracy and fine precision are not guaranteed.

It should be regarded as a vintage photographic instrument whose exact performance may differ from modern standards.
