Commemorative coin issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru to mark the centennial of the Campaign of La Breña, one of the most notable episodes of the War of the Pacific, led by General Andrés A. Cáceres. The obverse features a detailed and highly expressive portrait of the Peruvian military figure, with excellent definition in the facial features and the uniform, while the reverse shows the national coat of arms finely worked, flanked by laurel and palm branches. The specimen preserves an attractive original luster, with fields well preserved and crisp reliefs, showing only slight marks typical of MS63 grade, making it a solid piece and highly representative of contemporary Peruvian commemorative numismatics.
