- Grade: MS65 (PCGS).
Silver commemorative 5 Pound coin issued by Egypt in 1991 to celebrate atomic energy. The obverse features an elaborate Arabic calligraphic composition with the official name of the state and the date in Islamic and Gregorian calendars, executed in a typically elegant Islamic artistic style. The reverse shows a pyramid surrounded by electronic orbits, accompanied by the Cairo University emblem and legends referring to the scientific program, combining historical and technological symbolism. The specimen preserves a notable original mint luster, clean fields and well-defined relief, with minimal surface marks consistent with its high MS65 grade. This is a modern commemorative issue reflecting Egypt's interest in scientific development and nuclear research in the late 20th century.
