Model WRANGLER - NO RESERVE, Year 1986.
Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• First YJ generation with iconic rectangular headlights
• 4.2-liter straight-six engine paired with a manual transmission
• Functional black soft-top canvas roof
• Import taxes and DUA fully paid in Spain
• Original Spanish license plate recoverable through direct ITV (no registration tax)
HISTORY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Presented in 1986 as the successor to the legendary CJ-7, the Jeep Wrangler of the YJ generation marked a milestone in the brand’s history by integrating a wider chassis, better maneuverability, and its characteristic rectangular headlights. This unit corresponds to the first production run of 1986 and is equipped with the carbureted 6-cylinder in-line 4.2-liter engine (258 cu in), paired with a manual gearbox and 4x4 drive. It features a white body with a black soft-top roof and matching interior. The vehicle is located in Spain.
BODY/PAINT:
The vehicle remains in generally good condition with white exterior. The body lines stay straight with no structural damage or significant dents. The black hard or soft top (soft-top) is in operable condition. Aesthetically fitted with chrome tubular front bumpers with integrated LED auxiliary lights, side steps, chrome mirrors, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a spare wheel mounted on the rear door with a Goodyear cover.
INTERIOR:
The cabin features individual front seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl/leatherette, showing visible wear on the driver's bench. The interior includes aluminum-look sheet metal trim on the trunk floor and rear wheel arches. It preserves the classic dashboard layout, three-spoke steering wheel, padded roll bars with black protector, and a rigid center console with a cupholder between the front seats.
MECHANICAL:
Mechanically equipped with the 4.2-liter inline-six engine paired to a manual transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with a transfer case. The engine starts on first attempt and the vehicle moves under its own power. The seller notes that the engine consumes more oil than usual; while functional for maneuvers and short trips, it is not in optimal condition for medium or long-distance journeys, recommending a mechanical tune-up (valve guides/guides).
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is physically located in Spain and has documentation with Andorra’s license plate. All taxes and import duties have been paid, with the DUA stamped. As it is of Spanish origin, the buyer in Spain can directly recover the original national license plate after passing the ITV inspection, and will be exempt from the registration tax.
Visit and inspection: A appointment to view and inspect the vehicle before bidding is recommended to avoid surprises. To arrange a visit, please contact Catawiki.
Collection, transport and paperwork: Transport costs, ownership transfer, export administration and permanent registration processing are entirely the responsibility of the final buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
