Description from the seller

Laminated gratin dish / small enameled cast-iron skillet Cousances – Le Creuset, France

Old enameled cast-iron cooking dish from the French Le Creuset manufactory. The name Cousances signifies the high-end line from Le Creuset.

This piece is distinguished by its round, shallow silhouette, its chocolate-brown exterior and ivory enamel interior. It features a long integrated handle with a hanging hole as well as two opposite pour spouts, convenient for pouring preparations.

Versatile, this dish is designed for cooking on fire, especially gas, and in the oven. It can serve as a small skillet, a gratin dish, or an individual container for preparing and presenting cooked dishes.

The bottom bears the raised mark “COUSANCES – MADE IN FRANCE”, accompanied by the number 16, corresponding to the piece’s size.

Condition: good vintage overall. The enamel shows some signs of use, light wear and small discreet chips, mainly around the rim. The interior retains its ivory enamel with some superficial age-related marks. See photographs for a precise assessment of the condition.

Dimensions:

Total length with handle: 26.5 cm
Width from one pour spout to the other: 18 cm
Diameter: 16.5 cm
Height: 3.5 cm
Materials: enameled cast iron.
Origin: France.

An authentic vintage cooking utensil with understated, functional charm, sought after for its history, durability, and the characteristic aesthetics of old French enameled cast-iron productions.

Very protective and careful shipping.
Kind regards.
