AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Exceptional Set of 3 Large Bronze Torches (39 cm) – Including a Pair of Candelabra Stands and a Tripod Pique-Cierge mounted as a Lamp – 19th century
Description:
Rare and very fine homogeneous decorative set in solid bronze, comprising three large pieces from the 19th century. Identical height of all pieces makes for a particularly prestigious and harmonious furnishing ensemble.
The lot consists of:
1. A pair of large candelabra/torches (on the left): In bronze with gilded patina, they display a remarkable and unusual height of 39 cm. They rest on a stepped square base and feature an elegantly turned baluster shaft. Classic large-size models, kept in their superb original condition for candles (not pierced, not electrified).
2. A large church pique-cierge (on the right): In heavy bronze with a dark medal patina, of identical height 39 cm. A piece in Baroque / Haute Époque influence, it rests on a superb triangular base (tripod) ending with three volute feet. It was previously mounted as a living-room lamp with a sliding artificial candle (old electrical system with its cord, sold as is).
An impressive ensemble and highly decorative due to its imposing dimensions, ideal for dressing a large fireplace, a master table, or for integrating into a cabinet of curiosities.
Characteristics Condition:
• Material: True bronze (heavy and sonorous).
• Era: 19th century.
• Height of each piece: 39 cm (excluding the bulb for the pique-cierge).
• Condition: Good overall condition for all three pieces. Magnificent original patina with light traces of use and natural oxidation that testify to their age and history. No structural lack.
