Description from the seller
Stunning vintage oval enamelled cast iron gratin dish, in a bright volcanic orange hue, emblematic of the Le Creuset universe, with an ivory white interior. Its elegant shape is highlighted by two wide side handles carved with decorative striations, giving it a recognizable silhouette and the charm typical of culinary design from the 1960s.
The underside bears the monogram “AC,” associated with the Cousances designation, as well as the number 28.
Cousances: a premium line for Le Creuset France factory.
Le Creuset
Founded in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, in the Hauts-de-France, Le Creuset became known for its enameled cast iron cookware manufactured in France. The brand helped popularize bright colors in the kitchen, notably its famous volcanic orange. Its know-how, the robustness of its materials, and its timeless shapes have made it a reference in French culinary heritage.
Condition
Very good overall condition, with the interior white enamel well preserved and a fine exterior shine. Note: a tiny chip of about 1 mm on the rim edge. Some discreet signs of use are visible in the photographs. Overall, it remains particularly presentable.
