Description from the seller
Large Vintage Tipp & Co (TCO) Tinplate Steam Roller with Driver & Key – 1950s Germany (Slight TLC / Project)
Up for sale is a large, authentic vintage tinplate steam roller manufactured by the famous German toy company Tipp & Co (TCO) in Nuremberg, dating back to the 1950s.
This is the highly sought-after larger variant, featuring a classic dark green body with striking red wheels and rollers.
GREAT FEATURES:
• This piece still retains its original tinplate driver figure! Finding these models with the driver intact is becoming increasingly difficult for collectors.
• Wind-up key is included!
Product Details & Specifications:
• Manufacturer: Tipp & Co (TCO), Nuremberg, Germany
• Material: Lithographed tinplate (plåt)
• Era: 1950s (Post-WWII / Western Germany)
• Dimensions: Length 25 cm (approx. 10") / Height 15 cm / Width 13.5 cm
Condition Report (Needs TLC / Sold As-Is)
• Overall appearance: Nice vintage patina with normal age-related wear and paint chips. The lithography still looks great for its age.
• The Driver & Extras: The tinplate driver is present and in good visual shape. This specific model is without a smokestack.
• Mechanism & Wheels: This toy needs some mechanical attention. The wheels/rollers are currently loose and need to be secured. The clockwork/wind-up mechanism needs to be serviced/oiled by a collector to run smoothly again.
• Completeness: Includes the wind-up key.
This is a fantastic and highly rewarding project for any vintage toy enthusiast or clockwork repair hobbyist. Please review the photos carefully to evaluate the condition. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
Shipping:
