This rare pair of Ibeji from the Yoruba people (Nigeria/West Africa) embodies one of the most significant traditions of African sacred art. Ibeji figures are carved as spiritual vessels for deceased twins and are regarded as bearers of protection, luck, and fertility.
The two figures display the characteristic Ibeji iconography: a distinctive headdress with fine incised lines, stylized facial features with scarification patterns, and a compact, powerful stance. The dark, patinated wood testifies to age and ritual use.
Material: Hard wood, hand-carved
Origin: Yoruba, Nigeria / West Africa
Style: Tribal Art, African Sacred Art
Condition: Age-appropriate, beautiful natural patina
Dimensions: Approximately 15–20 cm high (pair)
An exceptional collectible for lovers of African art and ethnographica.
