Mobach ceramic hand-formed vase from Utrecht Atelierkeramiek, Nederland, circa 1970–1980, in red stoneware with a 23.5 cm height, 12.5 cm width and 12.5 cm depth, signed Mobach on the base and bearing the original Kunsthandel Mobach sticker, in good condition with minor signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
authentic vintage ceramic design vase from the renowned Dutch studio Mobach (Utrecht). This hand-formed vase dates from the studio's flowering period, circa 1965–1975, and is a beautiful example of mid-century modern and Brutalist Dutch pottery.
The vase is finished in a characteristic, deep oxblood-red/brown glaze with the rough, grainy texture that is so characteristic of Mobach.
Unique details for the collector:
• 100% Authentic: On the underside is clearly visible the original, hand-engraved signature "Mobach".
• Rare time document: Featuring the original paper shop sticker of "Kunsthandel Mobach – Oude Gracht 198 Utrecht". Because the shop moved from Oudegracht in 1975, this object can be dated precisely and is especially prized by collectors.
• Condition: The vase is in absolute top condition. The piece is pristine, with no chips, no cracks and no hairlines.
Specifications:
• Provenance: Mobach Keramiek, Utrecht (Netherlands)
• Period: 1960s / early 1970s
• Style: Mid-Century Modern / Brutalism / Atelier Ceramic
• Material: Stoneware / Earthenware
A beautiful collectible or a stylish focal point for a modern, vintage or industrial interior.
