Description from the seller
Two Birds, One Band — Ancient Roman Bronze Seal as a Sacred Talisman.
A seal leaves an imprint on behalf of its owner. In this specimen the imprint is formed by two birds facing each other. This encounter on a small surface evokes a feeling still recognizable today: standing close to someone and cherishing the mutual bond.
The two birds placed opposite each other can be interpreted as a symbol of harmony, mutual connectedness, and the desire to stay together. The name ‘Two Birds, One Band’ is inspired by that balanced composition.
This bronze seal from the Roman period stands out for its square stamp surface and formed handle. The dark surface, wear, and the recognizable bird figures give the object its own character.
This object, which once left a trace through its imprint, can today take on a new meaning as a personal talisman or amulet: a small reminder of the bonds we want to preserve in our lives.
