Description from the seller
Damoy Stereoscope – Omnium, ca. 1910
Ancient French Damoy “Omnium” portable folding stereoscope, dating from the early 20th century, around 1904–1910.
Rare and fascinating collectible optical instrument, characterized by its distinctive metal folding structure, the two square oculars, and the elegant black wooden handle.
The specimen is complete with its original period-case, an element particularly interesting for the piece’s collectability.
The stereoscope presents in excellent general condition for its age and has been verified: all mechanisms are perfectly functional, including the opening systems, adjustment, and movement of the optical parts.
The lenses are present and the instrument retains entirely its characteristic original mechanism.
Case
The original case is present and complete, but shows evident signs of time and use, with abrasions, loss of surface finish, wear on corners and inside. These marks are consistent with the object's age and do not compromise the functioning of the stereoscope.
Original markings, now quite faded, are also visible on the case, documenting its origin and marketing.
