Table - Wood - Anglo-Indian style

Exceptional and sophisticated small piece of Anglo-Indian style furniture, dating from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. This is a highly collectible piece of colonial historical furniture that perfectly blends the sobriety of Western utilitarian design with the ornamental exuberance of Indian artisanal tradition.
The Top: It features a round shape, fullyHand-decorated with a meticulous profusion of vegetal motifs, foliage and entwined tendrils in relief. In the center, there is a refined circular ornamental medallion with inlays of fine marquetry (polished bone), drawing delicate floral branches.
The lower structure is composed of richly pierced and carved panels that reproduce flowing floral patterns.
Following the classic model of travel tables created for British officers in India, the structure is detachable and foldable, allowing the top to be unfastened and the base to be folded flat for easy transport.
