A vintage Chinoiserie-style chair with a tortoiseshell bamboo frame and a woven seat, dating presumably to around the late 19th to early 20th century.
The frame is made of flame-treated bamboo to imitate the tortoiseshell effect (tortoiseshell bamboo), characterized by natural knots and dark shading.
The seat is formed by a net-weave, presumably in cord or natural plant fiber.
The chair features a folding scissors-style frame with diagonal crossbars and junction details in metal or turned wood.
