Description from the seller
João Carrilho da Graça: works and projects
A cura di Roberta Albiero e Rita Simone
Through a careful reading of the landscape and the structure of the territory, Carrilho da Graça translates the architectural program with plastic sensibility, affirming the expressive value of the construction and the materials. The volume chronologically traces the work of João Luís Carrilho da Graça, documenting his architectural research linked to the Portuguese reality but deeply rooted in the modernity of Mies van der Rohe and Giuseppe Terragni. Inside, the survey of projects ranges from the major realizations, the Campo Maior pool, the School of Social Communication, the Knowledge of the Seas pavilion for the Expo of Lisbon, to the very recent Center of Documentation and Information at the Belem Palace. In addition to presenting works in progress, among which we mention the Poitiers Auditorium, the Portalegre Church and the Setúbal Museum, the volume is enriched by presenting a core of recent works in progress: the civic center at Planato do Ingote, near Coimbra; the expansion of the German School in Lisbon; the project for pedestrian bridges over the Carpinteira stream and Valle da Goldra to Covilhã; the residences at Quinta do Bom Sucesso in Obidus; the Maison de la Paix in Geneva, and finally, Albani House in San Diego, California.
The volume is presented in excellent condition. Cover without defects. Perfectly solid softcover. Inner pages clean, without creases or stains. Copy like new, from collection/consultation.
COMBINED SHIPPING available for multiple purchases.
