Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Vintage white porcelain vase signed Sgrafo Modern, German maker linked to designer Peter Müller, tall geometric form with a textured, biomorphic surface; 27.3 cm high and 7.8 cm wide, from 1950–1960, in perfect condition.
Description from the seller
Vintage vase in white porcelain signed Sgrafo Modern, a German manufactory tied to the work of designer Peter Müller. The piece stands out for its geometric, tall and slender form, and for its highly tactile surface, characterized by irregular reliefs, small protrusions and vertical striations reminiscent of tree bark or a natural formation.
The glossy white glaze enhances the play of light and shadow produced by the texture, highlighting the plastic quality of the surface. The contrast between the rigorous square structure and the organic finish of the coating gives the vase a sculptural character, typical of European ceramic design research of the 1960s in an Op Art key.
Peter Müller developed for Sgrafo Modern a personal language, open to formal experimentation in modernism and to biomorphic forms. His creations, produced in Germany mainly from the 1950s onward, include vases and decorative objects in which ceramics are interpreted as expressive matter as well as a functional element. The manufactory's production continued until 1995.
In perfect condition.
Measurements 27.3 x 7.8 cm
