Rollei SL66 + Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8 Analogue camera

Up for auction is a prestigious, legendary and extraordinary modular medium-format SLR: the Rolleiflex SL66, manufactured in Germany by Rollei in Braunschweig starting from 1966.

The lot presents in good overall condition, perfectly functioning, and is complete with its original magazine, the waist-level viewfinder, and the original Rollei viewfinder hood.

Optics: The camera mounts the extraordinary and renowned original Carl Zeiss Planar 1:2.8 f=80mm standard lens. The lenses are in good preserved condition, free of surface scratches or traces of internal mold and fungi. The internal manual diaphragm blades are dry and responsive.

Mechanical: The lot has been tested and is functioning. The focal-plane mechanical shutter responds correctly to commands, firing reliably at the various speeds. The knurled side focus knob moves steadily and smoothly, regularly extending the characteristic inner bellows integrated into the camera body.

Aesthetics: Good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid and sturdy metal frame with bright chrome profiles preserves a beautiful vintage visual impact, showing the classic and normal superficial signs of time and a light, physiological wear from storage coherent with the piece’s age.
