Description from the seller
New vase with lid, in white porcelain NO MAKE-UP
designed by Alessandro Mendini for the famous Italian company Alessi
for the Tendense series, produced in Germany
With a modern, minimalist and elegant aesthetic, this bullet-shaped vase emphasizes the playful and lively elements characteristic of the designer.
In every project by the Milanese designer, in fact, one perceives the fun and pleasure that led to its creation.
In particular this vase, which here we find in its basic form, was born as a prototype for the project "100% Make-up", a collaborative operation that involved 100 authors including architects, designers, graphic artists, artists and authors belonging to alternative cultures invited to create their own “visual story” to decorate each one, thanks to decals, with 100 copies of the vase designed by Alessandro Mendini himself.
Alessandro Mendini was born in Milan in 1931. He directed Casabella, Modo and Domus. He won a Compasso d’Oro. Among his most significant works are the Groninger Museum in Groningen, the Arosa Casino and the Forum of Omegna. He reinvented the image of Alessi, of which he was a meta-design consultant. He was a designer, architect and image consultant for companies such as Philips, Swarovski, Swatch and Bisazza. He died on 18 February 2019.
