Maison Les Alexandrins Hermitage Blanc 2022, three 0.75 L bottles, from France’s Rhône region, Hermitage appellation, produced from Marsanne and Roussanne.
Description from the seller
Maison Les Alexandrins Hermitage Blanc 2022 embodies the elegance of the great white wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. From the Hermitage appellation, this wine comes from the lieu-dits Rocoule and Maison Blanche, where loess and limestone soils impart a mineral signature particularly suited to age-worthy whites.
Its blend united in equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne, two emblematic grape varieties of the appellation. Marsanne provides roundness, generosity and notes of dried fruits, while Roussanne contributes tension, aromatic finesse and freshness. The grapes are vinified separately, then the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, giving it complexity, a silky texture and delicate toasted notes.
In appearance, this Hermitage Blanc presents a beautiful bright yellow-gold robe. The nose, fine and expressive, develops aromas of citrus fruits, accompanied by toasted and slightly grilled notes from the barrel aging. On the palate, the wine is ample, round and generous, without losing its freshness: the texture is silky, the balance remarkable and the finish long, with notes of citrus and dried fruits.
This 2022 vintage, marked by contrasting climatic conditions, yielded grapes of high quality and promising aromatic complexity. Thanks to its structure and balance, this Hermitage Blanc possesses a very nice potential for aging and will gain depth with time.
At table, it will accompany with elegance a noble fish in sauce, roasted poultry or in cream, a mushroom risotto, seafood, or a cheese with some character. Serve at 12–14 °C, ideally after a brief aeration to reveal all its finesse.
