A 19th-century French Louis XVI style mahogany bureau plat (flat-top writing desk), measuring 150 x 80 cm and standing 76 cm tall. The rectangular top features an integrated, weathered black leather writing insert surrounded by a banded wood border. The frieze is configured with five functional drawers fitted with antique brass drop-bail handles and keyhole escutcheons, supported by four elegant tapered square sheath legs. The piece exhibits honest signs of usage and a weathered patina consistent with its age; however, the structural integrity remains excellent, allowing it to be easily restored to its original luster if wished.
