Description from the seller

Val Saint Lambert – Six Römer Glasses – Anvers Model – Richly Hand-Cut Lime Green Crystal – Belgium, circa 1920–1940

An elegant and beautifully preserved set of six tall Römer glasses, attributed to the prestigious Belgian crystal manufacturer Val Saint Lambert, featuring the refined Anvers model and dating from approximately 1920–1940.

These remarkable glasses are distinguished by their vibrant lime-green crystal bowls, beautifully contrasted with tall, clear crystal stems and circular feet. Their elegant proportions and richly decorated bowls reflect the exceptional craftsmanship and decorative sophistication of Belgian crystal production during the Art Deco period.

The Art of Val Saint Lambert
Founded in 1826 in Seraing, Belgium, Val Saint Lambert became one of Europe's most celebrated crystal manufacturers, internationally renowned for its exceptional quality, brilliant colours and highly skilled crystal cutting.
During the early 20th century, the crystal works produced an extraordinary variety of refined tableware, combining traditional craftsmanship with the evolving elegance of Art Deco design.

Anvers Model – Taillé Riche

The glasses feature the characteristic decorative richness of the Anvers model, with beautifully proportioned rounded bowls resting on tall, faceted stems.

Each bowl is decorated with elaborate taillé riche, the French term for richly executed crystal cutting.

The decoration combines deeply cut starbursts, elongated fan-shaped motifs and intricate cross-hatched diamond patterns, creating a fascinating interplay of light, colour and transparency.

The brilliant lime-green crystal enhances the depth of the cutting, while the clear stems provide an elegant visual contrast.

These glasses are equally attractive as functional tableware and as decorative collector's pieces, particularly suited to an elegant dining table, a festive setting or a sophisticated Art Deco interior.
