Description from the seller
Porsche 935 #40 – 24 Hours of Le Mans 1977
Magnificent replica of the Porsche 935 No.40 from JMS Racing / ASA Cachia, protagonist of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1977.
Driven by specialists Claude Ballot-Léna and Peter Gregg, this spectacular Porsche 935 achieved a historic 3rd place overall at Le Mans and the victory in the Group 5 category, completing 315 laps of the La Sarthe circuit.
The car, with chassis 930 770 0912, was equipped with the characteristic turbocharged six-cylinder Porsche boxer engine and bore the striking JMS / CACHIA livery, in black and red.
The result of No.40 was especially notable against the official Porsches: it finished third in the overall classification and ahead of numerous prototypes and vehicles from higher categories.
A piece with great appeal for collectors of competition Porsches, Group 5 and classic Le Mans, especially because it is a podium car and class winner.
