This handwoven Kelim impresses with its particularly restrained, modern design. The surface is almost monochrome, thus appearing calm, clear, and decidedly timeless. Ornament or decorative patterns are entirely avoided – the effect arises solely from the depth of the dark color field and the fine texture of the weave.
Colorwise, the rug presents a very dark interplay of black, anthracite, and deep coal gray. Subtle, barely visible vertical shading and fine tonal variations give the surface liveliness without disturbing the minimalist character. The light fringes on the short sides provide a natural, understated contrast.
