AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Hello dear customers

The house presents to you THE RAREST sun mirror by Chaty Vallauris ever offered.

This is an almost unique specimen of its kind.

It has two features.
The mirror is oval, which is very rare for French production by Chaty, but more importantly, it has a central convex and warped glass as manufactured.
Indeed, in the 1940s/1950s the French firm would have attempted to launch in series oval-shaped models with a center not a flat glass but convex.
Facing the technical difficulty of the time to realize this kind of manufacture, the house ultimately decided to produce in series this model with flat glass.
In this case, coming from an incredible private collection of old sun mirrors, here is a very rare version with a convex central glass that is unfortunately warped as it left production, as evidenced by the photos with the blue areas on the photos to show you the deformation of the material.
Once mounted on a wall, the “witch” effect remains stunning and unique in its decorative nature.

The model is stamped on the back on cardboard.
The mirror will be carefully well-packaged and an antique expert, for its unique character today, has estimated this mirror at 2500 euros.
We will thus see what this site will say about it.

Happy bidding in any case to everyone!
Have a good evening.
