Description from the seller
FIAT ABARTH 124 SPIDER #7 – RALLYE EL CORTE INGLÉS 1979
1:32 scale replica of the emblematic Fiat Abarth 124 Rally car no. 7, driven by Carlos Alonso-Lamberti and José Manuel Marrero in the 1979 Rallye El Corte Inglés, one of the standout events of the Spanish Rally Championship.
Based on the legendary Fiat 124 Sport Spider, the Abarth version was developed for competition and became one of the leading protagonists of European rallies in the 70s. Its four-cylinder engine, rear wheel drive, and balanced chassis made it especially competitive on winding roads.
In the 1979 edition of Rallye El Corte Inglés, Alonso-Lamberti and Marrero achieved a creditable 4th place overall, at the wheel of the Fiat with registration GC-3859-F. The result confirms the team’s competitiveness against rivals with high-level machinery.
This reproduction belongs to Scalextric Tecnitoys / Altaya’s Rallyes de España collection, released in 2005-2006, dedicated to recovering cars and drivers representative of the history of Spanish motorsport.
