Description from the seller
TOYOTA CELICA TURBO 4WD #2 – LOMBARD RAC RALLY 1990
Scale 1:32 replica of the legendary Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 No. 2, driven by Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya at the Lombard RAC Rally of 1990, the final round of the World Rally Championship.
This unit holds a prominent place in the history of Spanish motorsport: Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya achieved the overall victory, beating Kenneth Eriksson and Staffan Parmander's Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 by 1 minute and 42 seconds.
The Celica GT-Four ST165 was Toyota's first all-wheel-drive with which Sainz achieved major international successes. Equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine, along with four-wheel drive, it became one of the main protagonists in the transition to modern rallying.
The British victory crowned an extraordinary season in which Sainz was crowned World Rally Champion in 1990, becoming the first Spanish driver to win this title.
