Bergland – Flight to Egypt – wood – Val Gardena, Italy – late 20th century to early 21st century
Professionally shipped – more than 1000 five-star reviews worldwide.
Large sculpture group with Mary and the Child Jesus on a donkey, accompanied by Joseph with a raised torch. The depiction refers to the flight of the Holy Family to Egypt to escape Herod's persecution. Mary bows her head to the child and keeps him sheltered against her, while Joseph turns toward them. The carving is carefully executed in the faces, the flowing strands of hair, and the deeply incised mantle folds. The painting in gentle tones is complemented by gold-colored accents.
Height of Joseph: 55 cm; total weight: about 6 kg. In good condition, with a small crack on the back of Joseph.
Please look closely at the photos, they are part of the description.
Shipped with track & trace.
