Antique baroque-style two-tier wooden coffee table, circa 1850–1900, with four carved corner masks, a violino-shaped upper top, and dimensions 73 × 63 × 55 cm.
Description from the seller
Antique Baroque-Style Side Table — Four Carved Masks and Two Shaped Tiers
A table with a strong sculptural presence, distinguished by richly worked wood and four carved corner masks that give the piece its distinctive identity.
The upper top, with its flowing “violin-shaped” outline, features engraved scrolling decoration. The apron beneath is enriched with carving and raised ornament, creating decorative continuity that can be appreciated from every side.
At each corner, a carved head connects the top to the sinuous supports, decorated with foliate motifs, openwork and scrolls. The curved legs lead down to scrolled feet, lending visual lightness to the richly articulated structure.
A second shaped shelf connects the supports below. Its surface features a central lattice pattern and engraved ornamental motifs, complementing the upper top.
The dark patina, with warmer undertones, highlights the relief decoration and woodwork. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for the centre of a small sitting room, beside an armchair or as an accent piece in an entrance hall or study.
A distinctive piece of interest to collectors, antique dealers and interior designers, capable of enriching a traditional setting or creating an expressive contrast in a contemporary interior.
