Description from the seller

Large Vintage Amber Glass Vase – Italian Style – Air Bubble Glass – Mid-Century Design

An impressive and beautifully proportioned vintage art glass vase, most likely of Italian origin, dating from approximately the 1960s–1980s.

This generously sized vase is crafted from mouth-blown glass in a magnificent warm ochre-yellow to amber colour, displaying subtle variations in tone depending on the light.

The glass is enriched with numerous tiny air bubbles of varying sizes, creating a lively and sparkling texture throughout the body. This decorative effect is reminiscent of the bullicante techniques associated with traditional Venetian glassmaking.

The elegant, rounded body rises towards a wide, gracefully flared rim, while the vase rests on a contrasting transparent glass stem and circular foot. This combination of rich amber glass and clear glass gives the piece a particularly refined and balanced appearance.

The vase reflects the expressive forms and decorative craftsmanship characteristic of mid-late century Italian art glass. Its generous dimensions and luminous colour make it a striking decorative centerpiece, whether displayed on its own or filled with flowers.

An especially interesting feature of this vase is the visible attachment of the separately applied transparent glass foot. The joining point can be observed through the interior at the base of the bowl, revealing an authentic detail of the traditional hot-glass working process.

Together with the numerous air inclusions, subtle irregularities and richly colored glass, this feature highlights the individual, handcrafted character of the piece.
