High-quality frame-off restoration carried out in the United States
3.9-liter Blue Flame inline-six engine
Powerglide automatic transmission

Transmission fully rebuilt
The example offered here has been restored with exceptional care. In the United States the car underwent a full frame-off restoration, performed by Corvette specialist Greg Wyatt. The bodyshell was completely removed from the chassis and the car was rebuilt step by step, with both the optical and technical condition brought to a high standard.
After the restoration the Corvette moved to Europe. There, too, the car benefited from careful maintenance and further technical refinement. According to the available documentation, between 2014 and 2017 more than €44,000 was invested in revisions and improvements to the drivetrain and various mechanical components.
Body
The elegant lines of the first Corvette generation are superbly showcased on this specimen. The body presents itself well cared for and shows that a lot of attention to detail and finish was paid during the restoration. The distinctive styling of the early C1, with its flowing fenders and subtle chrome accents, makes this Corvette instantly recognizable today.
Paint
The Corvette is finished in a classic white color scheme, which beautifully contrasts with the red interior. According to the available information the car was completely repainted during the restoration. The paintwork shows a fine gloss and emphasizes the elegant shape of the body.
Interior
The interior also fits perfectly with the character of this early Corvette. The red vinyl upholstery, dashboard elements painted in body color, the chrome details and the classic instruments create the authentic atmosphere of an American sports car from the fifties.
Equipment includes, among other things, a two-tone steering wheel, a centrally mounted tachometer, a push-button radio, an analog clock and controls for heating and ventilation. All contribute to the unique driving experience for which the Corvette is loved worldwide.
Technical condition
Under the hood there is the 3.9-liter Blue Flame six-cylinder engine, paired with the characteristic Powerglide automatic transmission.
History and documentation
According to the available data this Corvette was originally delivered new in the United States and first registered in 1954. The current owner had the car for about twelve years and maintained the Corvette with great care. There has been, as stated, a very intensive investment in the car to make the C1 as it is today.
The car was previously assessed at €155,000 in Germany.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
