Description from the seller
CANON FTb QL + FD 35mm F3.5 S.C., tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon FTb of 1971 was Canon's first camera for the then-new FD lens mount, a rugged all-mechanical 35mm SLR with full-aperture through-the-lens metering and Canon's Quick Loading (QL) system that makes film loading foolproof. Built like a tank, it remains a dependable classic. It is offered here with the compact FD 35mm f/3.5 S.C. wide-angle lens.
Important — please read carefully:
The lens has fine scratches on the rear element. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens (FD 35mm f/3.5 S.C.): Fine scratches on the rear element
Viewfinder: Clean (cleaned inside)
Functional
The camera operates properly: shutter fires at all speeds and the light meter responds.
Sticky slow speeds repaired; shutter speeds measured accurately. Light seals replaced.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1.1 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
- 1/60 — measured 1/53 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/1260 s (approx. 0.3 stop fast)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.7 OVER / EV15: 0.4 UNDER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. Fine scratches on the rear lens element. Please check the close-up photos.
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
