Description from the seller
USSR. 50 Kopecks / 1 Poltinnik Silver Collection (9 Pieces) – 1924, 1925, 1926 – The Iconic "Blacksmith" Struck in .900 Silver
Early Soviet Union (RSFSR/USSR). Complete Investment & Collector Lot of 9 Silver 1 Poltinnik (50 Kopecks) Coins.
An excellent, historic accumulation of the highly iconic early Soviet "Blacksmith" silver roubles struck during the New Economic Policy (NEP) era of the mid-1920s. These coins are highly sought after by collectors for their bold socialist-realist artistry and their exceptionally high silver purity standard, which matched the late Imperial Roubles.
• Obverse Design: Features the early State Emblem of the Soviet Union (Hammer and Sickle within a wreath of grain), flanked by the divided letters "С.С.С.Р.". Below is the denomination “ОДИН ПОЛТИННИК” (One Poltinnik), surrounded by the revolutionary slogan in Cyrillic: “ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!” (Proletarians of all countries, unite!).
• Reverse Design: An iconic, dynamic depiction of a muscular industrial blacksmith mid-swing, forging a plowshare on an anvil with sparks flying in the background. Agriculture equipment (wheels and gears) rests at his feet. Stamped with the exact year of minting below the baseline.
