Description from the seller

Hard to find:

The Ariel Cinematographica Register - complete in four volumes plus index.

Undoubtedly, the most complete guide to cine cameras and projectors, magic lanterns and some optical toys.

Cataloging all the Cine Cameras and Projectors known at the time. Produced by Pete Ariel,
a German Director and Screenwriter who later went on to publish his
Ariel Cinematographica Register or ACR for The German Film Museum in Frankfurt.

The catalog was contained in a four ring binder with each over 500 pages, each double sided page cataloged a single apparatus.
The first volume came out in 1981, and it was produced in an edition of 2000, each copy individually numbered.
The following three volumes were produced in limited editions of 1500 and in 1989 an index was produced.
It quickly became the standard reference for many museums and auction houses worldwide.

The pages are printed on heavy stock and designed to be easily removed for research purposes.
Some volumes have reprints of equipment booklets added at the back of the ring binder.
The basic content is in German and there is an index of terms and their translations to English and French - easy to understand.
