Figure - Wall Crucifix with Bronze Corpus - Bronze, Wood

Early 20th century wooden wall crucifix with an applied bronze corpus of Christ.

The cross is crafted from dark-stained wood with distinctive trefoil (clover-shaped) terminals on all four ends. Each terminal is decorated with carved floral and scroll motifs. The central crossbeam and upright feature a recessed rectangular panel showing residual green paint/patina. A metal INRI plaque is affixed above the figure.

The corpus is cast in bronze, with a warm golden-bronze tone that has developed a natural aged patina. Christ is depicted in the classical crucified pose with arms outstretched, head slightly inclined, wearing a loincloth and crown of thorns. The figure displays good period detailing in the musculature, drapery folds, and facial features.

Small areas of green oxidation are visible on the cross arms behind the figure, consistent with age.

The reverse is plain, undecorated wood with the original metal hanging loop at the top.
