Description from the seller
Dutch Art Deco Stained Glass Panel, Atelier Asperslagh, The Hague, circa 1920
In excellent condition – No reserve.
A highly decorative Dutch Art Deco stained glass panel, attributed to the renowned Atelier Asperslagh of The Hague, dating from the interwar period, circa 1920. The composition features a distinctive geometric arrangement of amber, golden yellow, pale green, red and lavender glass, set within a strong, symmetrical lead framework.
The angular central motif contrasts beautifully with the surrounding rectangular divisions, reflecting the geometric idiom of Dutch Art Deco. Crafted from hand-blown coloured glass with subtle air bubbles, the panel displays the character and craftsmanship of traditional leaded stained glass.
Housed in a sturdy aluminium frame and complete with its metal hanging chain, the translucent glass produces an attractive play of colour when illuminated. A striking decorative piece for collectors of Dutch Art Deco, architectural glass and vintage interior design.
