Description from the seller

Elegant French Silver-Plated Three-Tier Serving Stand – Laurent Charles, Paris – Mid-20th Century

An elegant and beautifully crafted French silver-plated serving stand, produced by the Parisian silversmith Laurent Charles, whose maker's mark has been documented from 1956 onwards.

This refined piece features three individually rotating circular dishes, arranged at different heights around a central fluted column. Each dish is finished with a delicate beaded border (perlé), a decorative detail inspired by the classical Louis XVI style.

The stand rests on a beautifully fluted circular base, while the central column is crowned with an ornamental finial featuring finely modelled foliage.

The Silverhouse – Laurent Charles, Paris

Laurent Charles was a Parisian maker of silver-plated wares, documented at 18 Impasse Saint-Sébastien, Paris, from 1956 onwards.
The piece bears the manufacturer's distinctive hallmark, featuring the initials CL accompanied by a cup, together with the French silver-plating mark 15 G.
This latter marking traditionally refers to the quantity of silver used in the electroplating process.

The combination of elegant proportions, classical ornamentation and polished silver-plated surfaces reflects the tradition of French decorative tableware.

Period: Mid-20th century, probably circa 1960–1980.

Decorative and Practical Uses
Originally intended for the elegant presentation of small delicacies, this versatile stand is ideal for serving chocolates, petits fours, macarons, strawberries, fresh fruit, nuts or other sweet and savoury treats.

Thanks to its three independently rotating dishes, the arrangement can be adjusted to create different presentations.

A particularly attractive centrepiece for an elegant dining table, afternoon tea, festive occasions or a sophisticated buffet. It also makes a beautiful decorative accessory for a classic, Parisian chic or contemporary interior.
