Fraraccio Sfilato “Siciliano” 19 cm – Marbled Resin and 420 Stainless Steel
Category Catawiki
Italian regional knives → Italian regional knives → Sicily
Description
Spectacular Sfilato “Siciliano” Fraraccio, one of the most representative models of the Sicilian knife tradition reinterpreted by the famous Molisan manufacture in the early 2000s.
This knife belongs to the large family of Sicilian sfilati, tools that for decades accompanied the daily life of peasants, breeders, artisans, and workers of Southern Italy. They were knives used for every daily need: from field work to small domestic tasks, up to convivial moments and meals eaten outdoors.
Besides its traditional use in daily activities, this knife was often part of convivial moments as well, being used at table for cutting cold cuts, cheeses, and other products typical of the local tradition.
The offered piece immediately catches the eye with its refined handle finish. The scales are made of marbled synthetic resin, characterized by evocative ivory white, gray, green, and black shades that make each specimen unique aesthetically.
The blade is made of 420 stainless steel, a material chosen by Fraraccio for its reliability, corrosion resistance, and excellent edge retention. As tradition of the Molisan house, the blade is particularly sharp and practical.
An authentic collector's piece that preserves all the charm of Southern Italy's popular tradition.
Produced in the early 2000s, it is today considered by many enthusiasts to be a true classic of Fraraccio’s regional model production.
