Description from the seller

Authentic Japanese Knife Set (2-piece) – Satake Sword Smith (濃州正宗作)

Offered: a stunning two-piece Japanese knife set in the original gift box. This traditional set is crafted by the renowned Satake Cutlery (佐竹産業) from Seki (関市), the historic home of Japanese sword and knife forging.

On both the box and the blades sits the prestigious brand inscription 濃州正宗作 (Nōshū Masamune Saku), which stands for "Made by Nōshū Masamune" as a tribute to the legendary swordsman. Internationally, the set is also known under the name Sword Smith, prominently displayed on the logo inside the lid. The knives are equipped with traditional, light wooden handles (和ハンドル) with a contrasting black end cap.

The set consists of two classic Japanese models:

1. Santoku knife (三徳包丁): The versatile knife. "Santoku" literally means "three virtues," referring to excellent performance when slicing meat, fish, and vegetables. It is the ultimate all-rounder in the kitchen.

2. Nakiri knife (菜切り包丁): The rectangular cleaver. This traditional knife has a straight blade and is specifically designed for highly precise slicing, dicing, and mincing of all kinds of vegetables.
