About the series:
This photo series captures trees in urban spaces through analog multiple exposures. The technique of multiple exposures creates a fusion of different moments and perspectives, poetically highlighting the connection between nature and the city. The images not only showcase the trees themselves but also their interaction with the urban architecture: the shadows they cast on concrete surfaces, the way their branches merge with power lines or building facades.
Each tree is exposed multiple times, creating a surreal effect. The trees appear in various stages of their existence: in full bloom, in the shadows of autumn, or in the stillness of winter. Sometimes, the outlines of the trees merge with urban elements like windows, crosswalks, or traffic signs, blurring the boundaries between nature and the urban environment.
The analog medium enhances the feeling of transience and craftsmanship. The blurriness and irregularities of the exposures add to the dynamic of the images and reflect the complex relationship between the "organic" elements of the city and its "artificial" structure.
The series conveys a subtle melancholy – the trees seem to be in an ongoing dialogue with the city, yet their natural presence is increasingly enveloped by urban growth. It's a reminder of how nature fights for its space, even as it appears to be lost in the urban jungle.
